Director of the Trade Dispute Settlement Division at MOTIE (Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy)

Sejin currently serves as the Director of the Trade Dispute Settlement Division at MOTIE (Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy). In this role, he is responsible for handling a diverse range of trade disputes, including those related to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Prior to joining the Korean government, Sejin worked as a dispute lawyer at Bae, Kim, and Lee LLC for over 10 years. His primary focus was on international investment and commercial arbitrations, WTO disputes, and various types of cross-border court litigations. Additionally, he provided advisory services to numerous corporate clients on matters of export control and international economic sanctions.
Sejin completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Master’s degree in Law from Seoul National University. He also holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Washington and is a member of the New York Bar. Following the completion of his Master’s degree at Seoul National University, Sejin was honored with the McDougal Prize, which was initially established by Yale law professors, in recognition of his outstanding academic performance and accomplishments.
